Macy's Android Mobile App

Team : Solo

Duration: 1 Week

Summary:

I conducted usability tests on Macy's mobile app and identified issues commonly faced by users and reasons of drop out. Made changes in the design of the current app using Invision and validated the the solution with valid KPI's.

Mainly Validated the Search option, Bar Code scanner, Sort, Filter on the Android Mobile App. Performed Multiple User tests, developed Personas, mocked up changes to the apps design and performed A/B tests between 2 proposed solutions to finalize and get the right answer.

Some of my deliverables..

Customer Research Document:

Gave a role playing presentation to General Assembly Instructors who played the CEO, VP- Marketing and CTO.

Proposed Solution after A/B testing:

The Major Fixes where:

1. Intuitive text to alert users to click on Shopping for Men, Shopping for Women.
2. Hint Text added for Barcode scanner, which was very intuitive to users now as a feature.
3. Filter By and Sort options resolved, and users could now Filter > Select and Checkout in 3 very easy steps rather than the complicated 6 step process.

Please follow the below prototype for more details:

User testing video to analyze the problems with the current app. Figured out that Filter Options, Sorting Options and Barcode Scanner on the landing page where not intuitive at all to the users and came up with Product Solutions to optimize Search and select a product to 3 steps from the current 6 steps.
